CONNECT GROUPS | possibilityplace

We are excited to begin our Connect Groups, led by Amanda Myers, PhD, LMFT & Kevin Vaughn, M.A.MFT, M.Ed. They will be meeting with ALL Pals through pop-in visits to classrooms. We’re also beginning a Men’s Connect Group and a Women’s Connect Group! Each month, Pals can expect to connect with God, self, and others through a variety of activities.

Dr. Amanda, Mrs. Madison, and Mr. Kevin have been able to have one-on-one meetings with our pals and will continue to check in regularly. We know that our pals are “wonderfully made” (Psalm 139) and are “made in His image” (Genesis 1:27). We also believe that our unique gifts, struggles, and experiences have a purpose (Romans 11:36). So we want to hear from each pal, give witness to what they are walking through, and instill hope and wholeness wherever we can.

Many of you participated in our Connect Interviews by interviewing a pal and having them interview you. THANK YOU! We are excited to use these interviews throughout the year to build communication skills, develop social-emotional skills, and connect with self and others. You can find examples of some of the interview questions HERE. More to come with these interviews! And if you have not completed an interview, there’s still time. Ask us to send you a copy of the interview questions, and we’ll be sure you get a chance to connect!

As you may recall, we developed and shared our core values in February: Love, Respect, Purpose, and Community. In March, we learned specifically about LOVE and how we can love God, self, and others! Go ahead and ask what Connect is all about. I bet you hear from many of the pals that Connect is all about “Connecting with God, self, and others!” In April, we will explore a new core value – RESPECT.

We are so excited to welcome another Connect Leader to our team – Mrs. Madison Grissom!

Madison grew up right here in Murfreesboro and is a proud Riverdale High School graduate. She studied Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Mississippi before earning her Master's in clinical mental health counseling from Belmont University. She's currently working toward becoming a licensed marriage and family therapist.
